Day 3 - Zoom Blur

I'm sure my husband would love to have a TV this zoomed size in the family room!  I tried about 20 shots, over various TV channels, until I actually managed to zoom a shot of a static image that was part of a commercial.  It took about 3 tries during that commercial to get the zoom even, and the car in fairly decent focus.  After I finished, I realized I could probably have paused the picture.  But that would have been too easy...    Anyway, it's a hand-held zoom with my 24-105 lens for 1.6 seconds.

  1. Ha, there is no fun in easy is there ;) I love how this one matches the colours in the previous days, I feel a concept evolving.
That small red car looks both tiny & dominant by placing it deadcenter and being bright red.

    1. I saw that too, Marga, but I don't think that concept is going to evolve, unless I get lucky..... that puts on a lot of additional pressure, so I think I'll just continue random and see where it leads. :)

  3. Very nice! You scored well there having a long commercial with a static image! The colours work really well together :)

  4. Nice and geometric, gives a good sense of scale and depth having the 2 extremes evident

  5. Nice shot! I really like the colouring on this one; the light yellows and blues contrasted by the bright red of the car. Very well done, especially if the car was moving on the screen :)

  6. I love how you have frames within frames all leading to the car. The car has great focus and I love the yellow and red. Nice technique!

  7. Very cool. The bright red in the soft creamy palette is really appealing. And I love how the household furniture is faintly visible. Great impact.

  8. Very cool, Carol. I keep thinking that if someone were to look at this in the future they would say the artist was making a statement about how advertisements invade the family home and entice people to desire that beautiful red car. Sometimes I see documentaries of what different artists meant when they painted this or that and I always think, or they felt like painting and yeah, there was an apple and a pair in their cupboard. Okay, enough with the rambling. I like the image and how the glow from the tv fills the room yet still leaves a background to see. Very nicely done!
